In an agreed statement of facts, Boss admitted to killing Primozic in an attack that left him with multiple blunt and sharp-force injuries, including more than 100 puncture wounds. Crown prosecutors argued the prolonged and violent nature of the attack showed Boss intended to kill. Boss’ defence lawyers argued that the charge of second-degree murder requires subjective foresight and that Boss was severely intoxicated to comprehend his actions, and that it is not possible to prove he intended to kill Primozic,
